Security of online transactions

We do recognize that security is one of the major concerns for the players during an online transaction.

We use state of the art security tools and protocols to ensure that you are protected against online fraud. In reality, an online purchase is probably more secure than a card transaction conducted in a shop or over the telephone because we ensure that your online purchase details are encrypted using complex algorithm methods.

Please rest assured that the information you provide during an online transaction is treated confidentially, and not disclosed to a third party.

If you are using a credit or debit card you may be asked to provide a special security code to the card issuing bank in order for the bank to authorize the online transaction when prompted in our payments page.

This is due to a secure protocol denominated 3D-Secure which is designed to ensure enhanced security and strong authentication for you when you use your debit or credit cards for online purchases. It is called, depending on the card type, 'Mastercard SecureCode' or 'Verified by Visa'.

You will not necessarily be asked for this additional code every time but you should be sure to remember the 3D-Secure code you set up with your card-issuing bank in case you are asked for it.

At your end, there are a few simple solutions you can put in place to keep you and your information safe online:

  • Use anti-virus software
  • Prevent spam
  • Secure your wireless connection
  • Keep your operating system up to date
