Reinstall the software on a Mac

Before reinstalling the software it is recommended to make a backup copy of the user.ini (preferences/settings file) and notes.user.xml (notes and labels - user is your Stars ID) files from our software as they may be removed when you uninstall.

To find your notes:

  1. Open the Finder.
  2. On the top menu bar click Go.
  3. Then Go to folder.
  4. Copy and paste the path below and click the Go button:

    ~/Library/Application Support/

  5. Scroll down and click on our software's folder, which will contain the notes file.

To find your user.ini file:

  1. Open the Finder.
  2. On the top menu bar click Go.
  3. Then Go to folder.
  4. Copy and paste the path below and click Go button:

    ~/Library/Preferences/

  5. It is saved as com.pokerstars.user.ini (or com.pokerstars.xx.user.ini for local licensed clients)

Once you have made a copy of the files you will need to:

  1. Uninstall the software by dragging it into the Trash.
  2. Go to our site and download the .zip file again from the download section.
  3. Install the software by double-clicking on the package file and then try running our software.

Be sure to restore the saved files once reinstalled.

To restore your notes:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Then back to Open My Settings Folder.
  3. Close our software and copy the file back into the folder. If you are asked to overwrite any file accept.

To restore your settings:

  1. Open the Finder.
  2. On the top menu bar click Go.
  3. Then Go to folder.
  4. Copy and paste the path below and click Go button, then paste the user.ini file in that folder:

    ~/Library/Preferences/
